“It hurts to realize that someone doesn’t like you, especially when you’re being kind and doing your best and there doesn’t seem to be any reason for it. It feels unfair. But feelings aren’t fair. You can’t logic your way into someone’s inner circle.’”
– JenniferP, ‘The C-Word’ (via tikken)
“If we wait until we are ready we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.”
– Lemony Snicket (via hevven)
Oh my shit, I will never sleep now.
“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out”
– Roy Croft (via breakfastatkerris)
“Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that one goes worrying about are of no importance whatsoever.”
– Isaac Dinesen (via morewaterdeeperbreaths)
Here are the rules, be completely honest, maybe even brutally so. Let’s stop pretending that things don’t bother us or that feelings don’t exist. Let’s do what we want, when we want to. If that means having sex with someone just because we feel like it, fine. If that means telling someone that you actually don’t want to hang out with them and you’re really just trying to be polite, do it. Let’s play the honesty game because we’ve all become to good at the lying game, pretending things aren’t shitty sometimes, or holding back when they’re awesome. That game is old. We’ve been playing that our whole lives. It’s time for a new game.
